Introductions

Hi, my name is Caleb Sommerville, and I'm a journalist looking for work in the Kansas City area. Here's the facts:
1. KU graduate
I graduated in May from the William Allen White School of Journalism with a Bachelor's in Journalism: News and Information.

2. Photographer
What started as a hobby is now one of my major passions. I love taking artsy shots, documentary shots, and even experimental shots.

3. Writer
I am an accomplished writer of nonfiction. I cannot write fiction to save my life.

4. Reporter
I have many years of training and experience with going out and getting news, no matter what the story may be.

5. Interviewer
Those years as a reporter means that there's little to no awkwardness for me when talking to people.

6. Social Media Expert
I was on Facebook back when it was only open to college students. My generation started social media, so therefore my generation knows how to use it the best.

7. Newshound
I read several news sites and blogs every day, in addition to talk radio and local news. Some say the news makes ya dumb, but I say we must be aware of the world around us.

8. Media Junkie
Movies, music, books, the web, gadgets, TV...they're all media, and they're all interesting to me.

9. Unemployed
Since my wife is going to medical school here in KC, I won't be relocating any time soon. Local jobs only, please!

10. Motivated to Work
I AM BORED. I've been job hunting nonstop since before I graduated, and with only a few internships and freelance gigs, I'm extremely motivated to get moving and get to work!
